Chapter 1088 We Call It Divine Punishment

Chapter 1088 We Call It Divine Punishment

6:15 in the morning, on the third floor of Pu Yu headquarters.

"Bang!" The sound of a 98K gunshot rang out, and a guard who wanted to set up a heavy machine gun fell down.

"The east corridor of the third floor has been cleared!" reported the communicator of the fourth team.

"Very good," Black Fox ordered on the intercom, "Teams 2 and 3 advance from the central staircase, Teams 4 and 5 control the east side, and Team 6 blocks the western escape route. Team 7 follow me to the fourth floor."

Outside the third floor meeting room.

"Surrender! You are surrounded!" the commando shouted.

He was answered by a burst of chaotic gunfire.

"Leave it to me." The fireman set up his MG42 and fired continuously at the conference room. Amid the flying wood chips, the sounds of resistance inside gradually disappeared.

Archives room on the fourth floor.

"Sir! We are running out of ammunition and food!" A squad leader of the escort squadron reported to the squadron commander.

"Damn it!" The squadron leader gritted his teeth, "We still had more than 200 people an hour ago, and now..."

He looked around and saw that the remaining thirty-odd men were already in despair. This mysterious enemy was eating them away bit by bit with terrifying efficiency.

"Da da da!"

Suddenly, bursts of MP40 fire were heard simultaneously in the corridors on both sides.

"They're coming!"

But it was too late. The four assaulters worked in perfect harmony, taking turns to cover the advance. Two MG42s blocked all the retreat routes, and the sniper was on the commanding heights on the opposite side, not letting go of any target who wanted to break through.

"Boom!" The grenade exploded in the archive room.

"Ah!" Screams rang out one after another.

"Surrender!" a majestic voice sounded, "Put down your weapons!"

The squadron leader looked around in despair. In just half an hour, they were beaten to the point where they lost all their ability to resist. Those shadowy enemies were carrying out this massacre with a suffocating level of professionalism.

"Put down...put down your weapons." He finally shouted this sentence.

At this point, the last organized resistance force at the Puyu headquarters was completely defeated. From the first floor to the fourth floor, the bodies of the guard squadron were everywhere. This elite force was as vulnerable as paper in front of the seven teams of the other side.

6:20 AM, fourth floor corridor.

"Attention, teams," Black Fox's voice rang out over the intercom, "This is the last floor. Teams two and three will advance from the main staircase, teams four and five will go up from the east fire escape, and team six will control the west escape ladder. Team seven, follow me up from the inner elevator."

"clear!"

"Remember," Black Fox added, "Hong Yuzhang is on the top floor. He is like a trapped beast in a cage. A trapped beast at this time is the most dangerous. Everyone should be alert."

Fifth floor, Hong Yuzhang’s office.

"General...General," a guard said tremblingly, "there are only six of us left..."

Hong Yuzhang stood in front of the window, his face livid. The sound of gunfire coming from downstairs was getting closer and closer. The two elite squadrons he was so proud of were completely destroyed in just one hour.

"Bang!" Another crisp gunshot was heard downstairs.

"They...they are coming up." Another guard held his rifle nervously.

Hong Yuzhang turned around and looked at the remaining six guards. These were the people who had followed him the longest, but now, their faces were full of fear. The terrifying fighting power displayed by the mysterious army had completely destroyed their confidence.

"Commander, what should we do?" asked the adjutant.

Just as Hong Yuzhang was about to speak, he suddenly heard footsteps coming from the stairwell. Those were professionally trained footsteps, and every step was filled with murderous intent.

"They are coming..." a guard muttered.

Hong Yuzhang clenched his fists. From the first floor to the fourth floor, his troops had been cleared out. Now, those ghost-like enemies were approaching his last line of defense.

The footsteps are getting closer.

The shadow of death hung over the entire top floor.

6:25 AM, fifth floor corridor.

"The target is just ahead." Black Fox made a gesture, and the four teams of assaulters quickly took their positions.

Two gunners set up their MG42s and aimed their guns at both ends of the corridor. The sniper used the commanding heights of the opposite building to bring the office windows within range. Everyone held their breath, waiting for the final assault.

The assaulter quietly approached the office door.

"Get ready." Black Fox raised his hand.

The assaulter took out the door hook and gently hooked the door handle.

"Now!"

With a "click", the door was opened a crack.

Inside the office.

“Not good!” Hong Yuzhang’s pupils shrank suddenly.

Almost instinctively, he threw himself over to the desk.

Two German grenades rolled in through the crack in the door.

"Grenade!" a guard shouted in horror.

"Boom! Boom!"

Amid the deafening explosion, the office was in chaos, filled with smoke and flying debris.

Hong Yuzhang lay on the ground, his ears buzzing. He saw two guards lying in a pool of blood, and the others were blown all over the place.

In the smoke, he heard a chilling voice -

"Da da da!" Two MG42s opened fire at the same time, completely suppressing any possible resistance points in the office.

Then, four shadowy figures rushed in like ghosts, and the sound of bursts of fire from the MP40s rang out. The remaining guards were knocked down by the precise bursts of fire before they could react.

Hong Yuzhang slumped on the ground, watching this well-trained team descending upon his office like the god of death.

In just ten seconds, his last line of defense was breached. The tacit tactical coordination made the guards he was so proud of useless.

"Hong Yuzhang," a cold voice sounded, "Death is coming."

6:30 AM, fifth floor office.

The smoke gradually dissipated.

Black Fox chewed gum, his leather boots stepped on broken glass, and walked towards Hong Yuzhang who was slumped on the ground. His black leather jacket still smelled of gunpowder, and his narrow eyes glowed with a cold light in the morning light.

Hong Yuzhang stared at those eyes - they were a pair of creepy eyes, narrow and sharp, full of cunning and murderous intent like a fox. At this moment, he knew that he would never forget this look.

"My family..." Hong Yuzhang's voice was hoarse, "I know I can't survive, but can I..."

“Sorry.” Black Fox interrupted him coldly, without any emotion in his voice, “This is war.”

He slowly raised the pistol.

Hong Yuzhang closed his eyes. In the last moment of his life, he finally understood what despair was.

"boom!"

The crisp sound of gunfire echoed in the office.

Black Fox put away his gun, spat out his chewing gum, and looked down at Hong Yuzhang's body: "When you go down there, remember to tell the King of Hell that we sent you down here as a punishment from the gods."

In the east, the first rays of morning light shone through the broken windows, dyeing the office floor red.
