Chapter 156 Facing Maturity

After experiencing the feeling of the past passing like smoke, Lin Wan'er and Li Yifeng both realized that they could no longer be bound by the shadows of the past, but had to face this encounter with a mature mentality.

Lin Wan'er sat on her balcony, a gentle breeze ruffling her hair. She recalled her past with Li Yifeng, and though a ripple of emotion still lingered, she felt more relieved. "The past is the past, and we should all move on," she silently told herself. She decided to face Li Yifeng with a calm and tolerant attitude, no longer letting past grudges affect their current interactions.

Li Yifeng, likewise, was lost in thought in his study. He recalled his past entanglements with Lin Wan'er, realizing his own shortcomings. "This encounter is a fresh start. I must handle it maturely," he resolved. He no longer dwelled on past mistakes and conflicts, but instead focused on presenting a fresh image to Lin Wan'er.

A few days later, they met again in a cafe. Lin Wan'er was wearing a simple yet elegant dress, a faint smile on her face, and her eyes revealed a calm and composed look. Li Yifeng was wearing a neat shirt and trousers, his hair neatly combed, and he looked refreshed.

"Long time no see, Lin Wan'er." Li Yifeng was the first to break the silence, his voice calm and gentle.

"Yeah, long time no see." Lin Wan'er responded in a calm and friendly tone.

They sat opposite each other, and the moment their eyes met, there was no more resentment and embarrassment from the past, only a sense of calm and understanding.

"Let the past be the past," Lin Wan'er said first. "We should all learn to let go."

Li Yifeng nodded. "You're right. I've also been reflecting on my past. I hope we can start over this time."

Lin Wan'er gently stirred the coffee in front of her. "I believe we have both grown up and can look at each other with a more mature mindset."

Li Yifeng agreed, "Yes, after going through so much, we should all learn to cherish and tolerate each other more."

In the following conversation, they no longer avoided past issues, but spoke candidly about the misunderstandings and conflicts they had faced. Lin Wan'er spoke of her feelings and grievances from that time, and Li Yifeng listened attentively, nodding from time to time to express his understanding and apology.

"I was indeed too impulsive at that time and did not consider your feelings." Li Yifeng said sincerely.

Lin Wan'er smiled and responded, "But that's all in the past. What's important is that we can communicate calmly now."

Li Yifeng smiled and said, "That's great! This is all the result of your hard work. I've also been trying some new businesses recently. Although they are challenging, they are also very fun."

Lin Wan'er encouraged, "Come on, I believe you can succeed."

Time passed quietly as they talked, and before they knew it, the sky outside the window was dyed with the colors of sunset.

Once, Lin Wan'er encountered a difficult problem at work and was in a very low mood. After much hesitation, she finally called Li Yifeng.

"Hey, Lin Wan'er, what's wrong?" Li Yifeng asked with concern.

Lin Wan'er told him about her work troubles. Li Yifeng listened patiently and then offered his advice, "You can try to think about the problem from this perspective. Perhaps there will be a new breakthrough."

Lin Wan'er stopped from time to time to take pictures of the wildflowers blooming along the roadside, while Li Yifeng waited patiently by her side, occasionally pointing out some interesting plants and scenery for her.

"Look, there's a squirrel on that tree!" Li Yifeng pointed excitedly at a big tree.

Lin Wan'er looked in the direction of his finger and a happy smile appeared on her face.

Halfway up the mountain, Lin Wan'er felt tired and her pace gradually slowed down. Li Yifeng noticed her fatigue and offered his hand, "Come, let me help you."

Lin Wan'er hesitated for a moment, but finally handed him her hand. Li Yifeng's hand was warm and strong, which made Lin Wan'er feel at ease.

Finally, they reached the top of the mountain. They were intoxicated by the beautiful scenery before them: the rolling hills, the vast sky, the gentle breeze on their faces, as if all their worries were left behind.

"It's so beautiful!" Lin Wan'er exclaimed.

Li Yifeng looked at her with a smile, "Yes, just like our lives, as long as we work hard to climb, we will always see more beautiful scenery."

Lin Wan'er nodded thoughtfully, "This climb taught me that as long as you persevere, no difficulty is insurmountable."

Li Yifeng said, "That's right, just like when we faced the past, as long as we have courage and determination, we can always overcome it with a mature mindset."

On the top of the mountain, they shared the food they brought, ate and talked, and their laughter echoed in the mountains.

On the way down the mountain, Lin Wan'er accidentally twisted her ankle. Li Yifeng immediately became nervous, "How is it? Can you walk?"

Lin Wan'er frowned and said, "It hurts a little."

Back at the foot of the mountain, Lin Wan'er said gratefully, "Today is all thanks to you."

Li Yifeng smiled and said, "This is what should happen between friends."

The climbing experience brought them closer together and deepened their trust in each other.

One day, Lin Wan'er received a call from Li Yifeng, inviting her to a friend's party. Lin Wan'er hesitated, worried that she would not be able to adapt.

Li Yifeng encouraged her, "Don't worry, they are all easy friends to get along with. I believe you will like them."

Finally, Lin Wan'er decided to face her heart bravely and asked Li Yifeng to meet her at the cafe where they first met.

Li Yifeng arrived at the cafe early, his heart full of anticipation and nervousness.

Lin Wan'er walked into the cafe, and the moment she saw Li Yifeng, a smile appeared on her face.

"I've made up my mind. I want to be with you." Lin Wan'er said.

Li Yifeng stood up excitedly and hugged Lin Wan'er tightly, "I will definitely cherish you."

Since then, they have appeared in each other's lives as a couple, supporting and accompanying each other, and managing this hard-earned relationship with maturity and understanding.
