"Got it! Sorry about this,
As the liquid splattered on them and the surrounding ground, dazed, groggy groans rang out as the Hunters began collapsing one by one, hitting the ground as Alkimia watched with a hint of guilt on her face.
I then glanced back as a Hunters came charging towards me from behind, letting out a roar of exertion as he drove a sword towards me, the blade swirling with flames.
I spun around and weaved back through the space as he closed in and unfurled a flurry of strikes and slashes at me, a look of increasing frustration and desperation on his face with each attack I dodged, his blade whizzing across the air as he failed to so much as graze me.
I ducked down as he swung the blade across at my head, before taking a swift step back as he gritted his teeth and drew back his blade, before lunging forward with a yell of exertion.
I sidestepped across to evade the thrust of the blade, briefly meeting his gaze before striking the side of his neck with a swift chop-...w-woah, that was close, I think I almost broke his neck. I should hold back a tad bit more...
"
She backed away as another Hunter came charging at her, before spinning her spear and rapidly whipping the bottom of the handle up as he closed in on her. She struck his chin with a thudding impact, his body going limp and his eyes rolling back as she knocked him out.
I then glanced up as a pained cry rang out, to see a man plummeting down. Avaritia jogged over and leapt up, catching the man and setting him down as he lost consciousness.
Ira had surrounded this spot with tall walls of thick, twisted branches, enclosing the Hunters with us and keeping them from reaching Kai and the others. He was hovering above the enclosure of branches, shooting down any Hunters who try to fly out while also trying not to kill them in doing so.
There’s still over fifty Hunters still conscious, they’re all spread out and keeping their distance warily. Taking them down without killing or seriously injuring them is tricky, they’re all so weak.
I had to deactivate Spirit Fusion because I almost killed a couple of them by accident, and even without the power boost, I’m still having trouble figuring out just how much I need to pull my punches.
A loud smack rang out as Gula whipped her tail across and slapped a Hunter across the face, his head jerking across sharply before he collapsed onto his knees, having lost consciousness instantly upon impact.
As another Hunter charged towards Gula, she swiftly slithered forward, weaving around the Hunter before snaring her with her tail, sharply and tightly constricting her, steadily suffocating her.
A couple of thuds rang out as a pair of Hunters collapsed onto the ground, with no one in sight around them. Must be Invidia using his ability to turn invisible, I think it’s called Stealth.
My gaze then darted across to either side of myself as two Hunters sprang up on either side of me. I swiftly lunged towards the one to my left, a choked gasp ringing out as I grabbed him by the neck. I tightened my grip as I rapidly spun around and flung him and the other one, the pair collapsing in a heap as they crashed into each other.
I then quickly backed away as I spotted Alkimia moving in, before firing out a spray of chloroform at the Hunters, knocking them out before they could react.
"D-Damn it, they’re too strong!"
"Who even are those two?! Where did they come from?!"
Hm? Two?
Oh, right, unlike Kai and his friends, Alkimia is still unknown to the public. Of course they’re bewildered over an unexpectedly powerful individual showing up out of nowhere.
She was pretty tense initially, but despite her lack of skill and combat prowess, the gap in power is so significant that she’s completely outclassing every single Hunter here.
As a barrage of various elemental attacks came shooting towards me, I turned that way and whipped my right arm across, unleashing a fierce burst of flames and blowing the incoming attacks away.
The Hunters scattered further as Luxuria charged at them, before the other Apostles chased after them, a deafening howl ringing out as Avaritia snapped open her jaws, dazing a handful of the Hunters.
She then weaved between them, striking them with swift jabs to knock them out, several thuds echoing out as the Hunters collapsed one by one.
She swiftly raced away as a volley of elemental attacks came shooting towards her, evading the attacks as Alkimia snuck up on the group that had fired the volley and launched a burst of chloroform, the Hunters collapsing promptly afterwards.
I then shot towards a pair of Hunters, closing in on them before they could react and grabbing the sides of their heads. A couple of thunks rang out as I slammed their heads together, knocking them out.
Just a few more to go. We need to hurry and incapacitate them already, so that we can go back up Kai and the others. I hope they’re holding their own against that Angel...just hold on a little longer, we should be done here before much longer...
