My husband is too wild, I need to go home and find my mom.

Chapter 20 Eagle Beastman

Chapter 20 Eagle Beastman

That night, just as Linni was drifting off to sleep, she suddenly heard a clear cry of an eagle. She got up and looked outside, seeing several dark shadows circling in the sky, seemingly driving away wild animals drinking on the shore. There weren't many wild animals out at night; after they killed two lions, there were hardly any animals left on the shore.

Night kept Linni inside the cave, while Night transformed into a snake and emerged from the cave. He sat cross-legged at the cave entrance, flicking his tongue at the five black eagles as a warning.

Linni looked up and saw that the five black eagles had transformed into five tall, thin men with short black hair and wearing black skirts; their features were indistinct. One of the eagle-beast men said, "By the Beast God, we are eagle-beastmen on our way, just passing through to drink some water. We didn't know this was your territory."

Night transformed into a half-beast, coldly declaring, "Finish your drink and leave!"

The eagle-beastman nodded, then suddenly fixed his gaze on Linni. Linni couldn't see the person opposite her, but she could feel that sharp gaze. She had heard that eagles had exceptionally good eyesight, and that eagles and snakes were natural enemies. She bit her lower lip nervously.

Night transformed back into a serpentine shape, blocking Linni's view and hissing warningly.

The eagle-orc smiled at Night: "Your companion is very beautiful."

Another eagle-orc said, "We drank the water and left immediately."

Linni peeked out and saw the two eagle-beastmen standing there waiting for their three companions to drink water before they went to drink. She didn't know if they were wary of their surroundings or afraid that Ye would suddenly attack them.

After finishing the water, the eagle-beastman who had spoken earlier said to Night, "Snake-beastman, thank you for the water. Consider these two prey as an exchange."

Night remained in her serpentine form, showing no intention of communicating with them, only wanting them to leave quickly.

The eagle-orc who had spoken first said, "My name is Yan. I am an eagle-orc living in the towering mountains. I am still a single orc. If your partner is looking for another partner, you can consider me."

Night let out a low growl, which Linni automatically interpreted as: Get lost!

The eagle-orc smiled at Linni, then transformed into a black eagle and flew away.

Linni imagined: A man saying to another man, "Your wife is beautiful; if she wants to find a lover, she can consider me." She chuckled to herself. In her original world, she probably would have been rushed at and beaten to death.

Night transformed back into human form, sulking as he walked back: "The eagle-beastman is so annoying! If there was only one, I would have rushed over and bitten him to death!" He sat down next to Linni, looking at her still-smiling face: "You like him?"

"No, no," Lin Ni quickly denied, seeing his expression. They were the third group of people she had seen in this world. She wondered what she would encounter after leaving this place. She began to look forward to it.

Looking at Lin Ni's expectant expression, Ye picked her up and let her sit on his lap: "He is a level six eagle beastman, still a bit weaker than me. Besides, eagles like to live on very high rocky mountains, and those kinds of places are not suitable for you to live in."

"I know, Ye is the best!" Lin Ni hugged him back and kissed his chin.

"Mmm!" Ye nodded, hugged Lin Ni and gave her a passionate kiss, then tried to take off her clothes.

Linni pressed his hand down: "No, I don't want to."

The atractylodes and bletilla striata were all in the cave. She felt embarrassed just thinking that they might turn into humans. Moreover, there were many wild beasts outside the cave, and she didn't want to be watched by them.

Ye pitifully whispered in her ear, "You said it would be every other day, but seven days have passed now!" He suddenly remembered that she had stopped being affectionate with him ever since Baiji was injured and recuperating in the cave. He immediately turned and stared coldly at the two white tigers: "You two, get out of the cave right now!"

Bai Zhu and Bai Ji raised their heads and looked at Ye innocently, not understanding why the two of them, who were so affectionate, would suddenly want to drive them away.

Linni shook Ye's hand helplessly: "Ye, don't chase them away, it's not because of them!"

Ye looked at her suspiciously, and Linni explained, "The waterfall in this cave has dried up. We could cover ourselves with blankets before, but it's too hot now, and I don't want to be seen by the animals outside."

Ye glanced outside and saw a dozen or so wild beasts gathered on the opposite bank, gnawing on the two lions that the eagle-orc had killed. He thought of getting up and going out: "I'll go and chase them away."

Linni hugged him tightly: "They'll come back even if you chase them away. It's too hot now. Let's wait until the rain comes, okay?"

Ye eventually had no choice but to give in, but he held Lin Ni and kissed her for almost half an hour, which made Lin Ni so angry that she bit him several times—Ye thought she liked it, so he kissed her even more enthusiastically.

On the eighth day of Lin Ni's lingering on Ye, just as she felt unbearably hot, a slight coolness suddenly drifted through the air. Lin Ni looked up and saw that the previously blindingly bright sky had suddenly darkened, and then a fierce wind blew the trees almost uprooted from the ground. She asked in surprise, "Is it going to rain?"

Ye nodded, picked up Lin Ni, and walked to the edge of the cave: "Yes, a heavy rain is coming."

Thick clouds seemed to appear out of nowhere in the sky, the distant trees rustling in the wind. Animals that usually lingered by the pond scattered and disappeared in an instant. Branches and fallen leaves were swept up by the gale, forming circles that were blown into the air before scattering again and flying everywhere. Linni's face stung from the dust blown by the wind, and she and Ye retreated to the innermost part of the cave. After the gale had been blowing for more than ten minutes, the sky seemed to suddenly break apart, as if a thousand warhorses were galloping in, and the torrential rain pounded the earth with unstoppable force. Rain splashed up layers of water in the half-dried pond, the deafening sound of the rain like a giant drum. The howling wind carried the rain in all directions. Linni couldn't see the distant figures clearly, but she knew that this world would be reborn after the torrential rain.

The rain kept falling, sometimes as torrential downpours, sometimes as heavy rain, and sometimes as downpours. After seventeen days, it finally turned into a light drizzle, and then after three more days of light rain, the sun came out.

Linni, like the world itself, felt liberated. From the moment the torrential rain began, Ye clung to her, seeking intimacy. Without the excuse of other animals, Linni couldn't refuse. Afraid Ye would chase away the injured Bletilla striata, she strictly forbade them from peeking, and then half-heartedly agreed. During the day, except for meals, Ye held her and kissed her constantly. At night, he would make love incessantly. Linni was overwhelmed by his clinginess, but Ye initially said he wanted to make up for what he had done earlier, then later said it wasn't convenient to mate on the road, so he had to do it earlier…
